Q & A
Answers about how to structure your commitment may come from your personal tax advisor who can help you make the best informed decision.

Q - Why are we spending our money on mailings, DVD videos, folders, bracelets and consultants? Shouldn't we use that money for our campaign?
A - This is all about communication. The importance we place on making sure everyone is informed is connected to the necessity of spending money to raise money. To communicate to everyone adequately and have a successful campaign is essential and unfortunately cannot be done for free. Our communication plan is based on the success rates of more than 1,800 church capital campaigns. In addition, many generous church members have contributed their time and talents to produce these materials and, as a result, we will pay significantly less than we budgeted for our communications.

Q - What is the cost of having the celebration event at Eagle Vale?
A - The church will bear no cost. A generous member of our church family has donated funds to cover the entire cost.

Q - Why are we celebrating on Palm Sunday?
A - Building Faith is a wonderful individual and church-wide journey. We believe the endeavor before us and the growth of faith among us is important and unique enough to bring the whole congregation together. By gathering at Eagle Vale, we are able to do this in a time that is "normal" for us and in a space that can accommodate the whole congregation in one place for worship and fellowship.
Faith is growing among our members. That is exciting and is worthy of great celebration. By Palm Sunday, we will also know of some financial success which is another important aspect of our Building Faith endeavor.

Q - When will I receive my commitment card?
A - We are mailing cards by March 16th, to have all the cards in the hands of our church members by March 20th. Those individuals that attended the detailed information session on March 3 received their cards at that time.

Q - Can I give my entire gift now?
A - The earlier we collect our pledges, the bigger down payment we can make on our mortgage. So the more of your gift that you can give at the beginning of the campaign, the better for the church. That means our future mortgage payments can be smaller.

Q - Will this be our only building fund campaign for the expansion or just the first?
A - We are not certain at this time. With the existing plan, we have a $3 million need. At the conclusion of this campaign, the results will be shared with the congregation along with recommendations and financial plans. Unless we raise $3 million in this campaign - or at least the lion's share of it - it is likely that additional future campaigns may be required to achieve our ultimate goal. Further, we believe that our membership will expand throughout the building process, thereby spreading our future funding needs over a larger population.

Q- Is my commitment confidential?
A - Yes, the Financial Secretary (Al Norby) is the only person opening the cards.
