CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE
The Christian Education Committee is responsible for all Church school programs for children and adults. We offer Sunday School classes for pre-schoolers through adults at 9:30 am each Sunday from Sept. to June. Many dedicated teachers and our Church School Coordinators work to provide members of all ages varying opportunities for learning and spiritual growth. We also coordinate the Children's Chapel program, which is offered each Sunday during the 11 am worship service and special events, such as the Palm Sunday Fair and the Advent Family Worship.

We always welcome individuals to work in our education program on a continuous or part-time basis. The tasks might include teaching Sunday school (9:35-10:30), assisting with Children's Chapel (during 11:00 service), substitute teaching, helping in the nursery (during 8:30 or 11:00 service), or helping in preparation for special events.

BOARD OF DEACONS
The Board of Deacons' mission is to care for individuals and families in our church community and to nurture closeness within the church by communicating joys, events and concerns to the church family. The deacons are represented each month at the Session meeting and members of the Board sit on both the Nominating and Outreach Committees.

Deacons hold monthly coffee hours aimed at promoting church fellowship, provide tapes of the 11:00 am worship service available for use by those unable to attend services, present Earth Angel awards to recognize and thank individuals for sharing their time, talents and treasures with the church, and sponsor a Reunion Dinner for those who have joined the church during the previous year.

The Deacons' Board has organized a transportation service to provide transportation to members when such a need arises. Other on-going activities include providing meals to those in need, presenting rosebuds and a book to newborns, giving keepsakes to members moving away and sending "sunshine" cards when members are ill.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE
The Outreach Committee has adopted the following as our purpose statement:

"The Outreach Committee will reach out to our neighbors, make them more aware of the various ways PPC members connect through Jesus Christ, share his love, and become faithful disciples. We encourage all to join the PPC family."

We provide welcome calls to first time visitors. This committee also facilitates New Member Seminars, which provide information regarding the denomination and Perinton Presbyterian Church. Upon completion of the seminars, new members are received into the church membership. We encourage the new members to become involved in the church activity of their choice.

We are responsible for church publicity in local papers, etc. which includes worship times and information on various activities going on within the church. The committee is also responsible for the development and maintenance of the church web site.

Recent projects have included work locally and abroad. Locally we help support Advent House, which provides care and housing for the terminally ill. We participate in Perinton Churches Housing, which helps senior citizens obtain subsidized housing and support services. We participate in the Christmas Gift Baskets and support the Perinton Food Shelf. We also contribute our energy and pledges to the Crop Walk for world hunger and One Great Hour of Sharing. We have participated in the Flower City Habitat for Humanity and the Gift Center Ministry, which provides support services for inner city youth. Internationally we support missionaries in Papua New Guinea and Germany and will be supporting an African missionary in 2007.
